About

"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good." Psalm 34:8

Edible Edification was created as an instrument to serve God in a food-service ministry. We are fed spiritually by God’s Word and He gifts others to feed His children physically. Our joy comes from knowing His Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross so our sins would be forgiven. God’s joy is to provide us with a vehicle to share His love with those that might not know Him.

I have enjoyed cooking from a young age. My earliest memories of being in the kitchen were with my father baking cakes. As I grew, I loved reading cookbooks; especially ones from local churches. They didn’t have fancy recipes but ones that brought comfort.

As I entered college, I found a whole new “ministry.” Friends that lived on campus craved home-cooked meals and I was happy to accommodate. There weren’t many weeks that went by that I didn’t prepare a meal in someone’s apartment and had upwards of 20 starved friends come to eat! After the meal, they would plan the next week’s menu and pass around a basket for donations to pay for the groceries.

When my fiancé, Scott (now husband of 29 years), and I were planning our wedding, we decided to do all the food ourselves to keep the cost down. The only thing we didn’t prepare was the wedding cake. Our first Christmas, Scott gave me cake decorating lessons. The first couple of years I think he might have regretted that decision as my inventory of cake pans and tools grew exponentially! Not to mention that there were always desserts around! We learned to give a lot away and Scott’s employers have never complained.

After we had our daughter, we returned to our church roots and have never looked back. God has been so gracious and allowed us the opportunity to serve Him and His fellowship. We count it as a true blessing to be in His will using His gifts of service and hospitality.

We look forward to being of service to you. If you have questions about Jesus Christ, we would love the opportunity to share with you what He has done in our lives.
